Monsoon tales

She gazed at the cloudy sky,

It never asked her childish heart why?

She tripped on a unseen stone,

For the world she seemed alone…

She gathered herself while the unchecked tears rolled by,

Time had made her question and unleash a deep seated sigh….

The window pane seemed to feel wet,

She knew she would not be fair and his choice met…

Cruel her soul thought aloud,

Love was not a fairytale beneath a “monsoon cloud”…

He was too proud,

She was vain,

Their tales bound together by deep seated pain,

He thought she played a game,

Only she knew she did not, her love for him remained the same…
