Passer by

She looked on, waiting for her bus,

A book in had, she seemed so lost,

Waiting for public transport was not a plus,

But a must to go to work!!!!

She never dreamed he would pass her by,

She never asked him another why,

Beneath her breath she took a deep sigh,

As she saw him whizzing by..

Life had thrown her a surprise or two,

He was definitely not worth even a tiny “boo”,

He would remain to her of the few..

To him she was one of many,

He sought her in times of want and maybe for company,

After all he labelled her fast,

Their sailing ship never gained a mast,

To him she would always come last,

She was a matter of his past…

She remained on the footpath,

He was a passer-by, having chosen a different path,

yet life would often throw then together,

After all if not friends, then they were acquaintances in the same neighborhood!!
